Where are my recordings stored?
All recordings are saved locally on your device in the app’s private storage. They are never uploaded or shared.
Can I mix my own sounds with built-in noises?
Yes! You can combine your recorded sounds with built-in white, pink, and brown noise, adjusting each sound’s volume and trim for the perfect mix.
How do I edit or trim a sound?
Tap a sound orb in your jar to open its detail view. Use the trim controls to adjust the start and end points, then save your changes.
How do I create or edit a soundscape?
Tap the Mixer tab to create a new soundscape by combining sounds. To edit a saved soundscape, double-tap it in the list.
How do I share a soundscape?
In the Soundscapes tab, swipe right on any soundscape and tap the Share button. SoundJar mixes your soundscape into a single audio file and opens the standard iOS share sheet so you can send it via AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or any other app.
Can I import a shared soundscape?
Yes! When someone shares a SoundJar audio file with you, tap “Open in SoundJar” or use the Files app to open it. The sound will be imported automatically and appear as a new orb in your jar.
Can I see my sounds as a list instead of orbs?
Tap the list icon in the top-right corner of the Jar screen to switch between the orb view and a list view. In list view you can see all your sounds with details and swipe to delete them.
Is my data private?
Absolutely. SoundJar does not collect, transmit, or share any data. All your sounds and preferences stay on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How do I delete a recording or soundscape?
Swipe left on a sound or soundscape in the list and tap the delete button. Deleted items cannot be recovered.
What happens if I delete the app?
All your recordings and soundscapes will be permanently deleted from your device when you uninstall SoundJar.
How do I use Siri with SoundJar?
SoundJar supports voice control via Siri. Simply say voice commands like "Hey Siri, start Forest in the rain soundscape in SoundJar" or "Hey Siri, play Coffee Shop Ambiance soundscape in SoundJar" to play a soundscape by voice.
What Siri commands does SoundJar support?
To play a soundscape, you can say: "Start [name] soundscape in SoundJar", "Play [name] soundscape in SoundJar", "Play the [name] soundscape in SoundJar", "Play my [name] soundscape mix in SoundJar", "Mix [name] soundscape in SoundJar", or "Open [name] soundscape in SoundJar". To stop playback, say: "Stop soundscape in SoundJar", "Stop the soundscape in SoundJar", "Stop soundscape playback in SoundJar", "Stop mixing in SoundJar", or "Stop SoundJar soundscape".
Does Siri recognize my custom soundscape names?
Yes! Siri learns all your soundscape names automatically. The first time you launch SoundJar after creating or deleting a soundscape, Siri updates its vocabulary. Then you can use the exact soundscape name in your voice commands.
Can I create custom voice shortcuts?
Yes! Open the Shortcuts app and add a SoundJar action. You can create custom phrases like "Hey Siri, my focus mix" to play a specific soundscape. This works even if the soundscape name is long or complex.
